On Wednesday, 23rd March the Mothers' Union will be meeting in the Sports and Social Club. The speaker is Canon Michael Burgess, Vicar of Outrington and he will be speaking on 'Christian Icons'. He is an excellent speaker and we are fortunate that he can come. We have also invited our Prayer Partners from St. Chad, Leasowe to join us. Backford Branch will also be coming. It should be a good afternoon and we expect there to be between 40 and 50 people there. Please join us if you can.

 

Dedication of the Centenary Baptismal Candle Stand
on Sunday, 4th. July.

When the St. Nicholas Mothers' Union celebrated their Centenary last year, they thought it would be appropriate to present a gift to the church, which marked the occasion, and which would be of use in the church for future generations. The candle stand was something the church didn't already have and so that's what they went for!

Mothers' Union Diocesan Prayer Stroll
Thursday, 8th. July

Burton Church hosted the Mothers' Union Diocesan Prayer Stroll on Thursday 8th July. The stroll be directed by Rev'd. Michael Burgess, the Mothers' Union Diocesan Chaplain.

We had a period of prayer at the entrance to the churchyard, led by our Mothers' Union Chaplain, Rev'd. Michael Burgess.

We went up into the woods. It was, as you can tell, a beautiful day and the setting was just wonderful, for prayer.
